The Old Adobe Union School District is located in southern Sonoma County and serves children, parents, and the community on the east side of Petaluma, California.
With “Excellence for Learning” as our mission, OAUSD creates an equitable learning environment where each student achieves their greatest potential to learn with curiosity, think creatively, communicate effectively, and act responsibly in a diverse and ever-changing world.
The District's dedicated faculty and staff provide an excellent learning environment for close to 1,900 transitional kindergarten through sixth grade students that attend its five elementary schools and up to 24 preschool students in our kindergarten readiness program. Additionally, the district provides a unique opportunity for intercultural learning through its Spanish/English Dual Immersion program, as well as fostering a passion for learning with its varied standards-based programs that include arts-infused teaching and a focus on critical and creative thinking.

Old Adobe Elementary Charter School is a small school with a big heart. Families and staff work closely together to create a special place to learn and grow. Old Adobe truly is a place where, "everyone knows your name." We are a unique school with a challenging charter. Our charter features integrating the arts into all curricular areas and teaching ecology through a school-wide edible garden. We feature strong academics taught in ways that allow creativity and are in line with how the brain learns best.

La Tercera Elementary School is the first elementary STEM school in Sonoma County. As a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) focused school, we are creating the next generation of innovators. We offer your child a "hands-on” approach to learning in our classrooms, science lab, and state-of-the-art makerspace. Sonoma Mountain Elementary Charter School is one of five schools in the Old Adobe Union School District. With a student body of approximately 440 students, we are a student-centered, high performing elementary school in Petaluma, California. We work to create an engaging and active learning environment for our students.
