Welcome to Sonoma Mountain Elementary Charter School!
Hello,
I am so excited to introduce you to our school community. Sonoma Mountain Elementary Charter School is filled with enthusiastic students ready to learn, supportive parents/caregivers invested in our children’s education and development, and a dedicated professional staff committed to providing our students with an enriching and engaging education. We are one community with one vision – excellence – and we work together to strive for this in all that we do.
Beginning in transitional kindergarten, our students receive a solid foundation of reading skills, purposeful writing, mathematical reasoning, and critical thinking. Our curriculum is integrated with engaging strategies and new technologies. Most of all, classroom instruction is differentiated, so our students get what they need to maximize their personal best potential. With our charter focus in music, art, and movement, our students become well-rounded musicians, artists, and dancers by singing, learning how to play an instrument, practicing art methodologies, art analysis and thinking skills, and demonstrating this understanding through public performances. Our technology integration with 1:1 devices for all students prepares them for school and beyond. Our fabulous library and physical education programs round out the perfect school experience for all of our students. Our students are academically challenged and excited about their learning experience.
Our school community is special, and we all work together to be safe, respectful, and responsible. We have a strong emphasis on Social- Emotional Learning and educating the whole child. In addition to academics, our students work together, play together, and come together as an inclusive community.
I am honored to be the principal of Sonoma Mountain Elementary Charter School. I am proud of our school, and more importantly, extremely proud of our students and the responsible, intelligent, creative, and caring individuals that they become in our partnership with you.
My door is always open, and I welcome you to contact me should you have any further questions or ideas to share.
Kindly,
Sue Gruber
