Camper Health and Safety
Health Form
Your child’s teacher will collect your child’s camp health form for review by the district nurse. It is imperative that allergies or any other medical conditions are clearly marked on this form.
Your child's health and safety is our top priority, ensuring every camper has an amazing week!
- Our goal is to ensure a safe outdoor education experience for all students, essential volunteers, and staff. We will adhere to the most recent guidance outlined by the Sonoma County Department of Health Services and Sonoma County Office of Education. Camp will follow site/district protocols outlined in the OAUSD and Petaluma City Schools board policies, the OAUSD COVID Handbook, and any protocols from Camp Royaneh and the Boy Scouts of America. Participants and families will be notified of any guidance changes prior to the departure for Camp.
- The camp will have a nurse or nurse assistant on site 24 hours a day. If the nurse has questions about your child’s medications or condition, they will contact you by phone. Make sure you have provided phone numbers on your health form where you can be reached during the week we are at camp.
- Students, essential volunteers, and staff will be sent home at any time of day if they develop COVID-19 or flu symptoms, such as fever, headache, diarrhea, vomiting, sore throat, runny nose, etc. Again, please make sure you have listed your phone numbers on your child’s health form, where you can be reached during Camp week.
- The nurse will explain the protocol for a possible return to Camp. Participants may return to Camp if symptoms have improved, they have been fever-free without medication for 24 hours or more, and they are free from diarrhea and vomiting without the use of medications for 24 hours.
- If you have any questions or concerns regarding medications or any other health issues, please contact district nurse Laura Childress at 707-975-2418 or email lchildress@oldadobe.org.
