The Director of Curriculum and Instruction provides leadership and vision in the ongoing planning, implementation, development, direction, review and evaluation of the district’s curriculum and instructional services, federal programs, and assessment services. The Director ensures that the district education objectives are aligned to state frameworks and to instructional practices.
Gina received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Dominican University, in Marin County, where she grew up. She received her Masters Degree in English from Holy Names University. Gina holds both a Multiple Subject and Single Subject credential in English, and her teaching experience spans Kindergarten through grade twelve. After teaching in Lafayette for 12 years and obtaining her administrative credential, Gina moved to Sonoma County where was a teacher and administrative intern at McKinley Elementary School. Prior to joining OAUSD, Gina was Vice Principal of White Hill Middle School in Marin County, and Principal of Schaefer Charter School in Santa Rosa. STEAM education is a passion of hers, and she taught at Sonoma State in the Maker Certificate program. Gina is a member of numerous professional and academic organizations and is the Region 4 President of the Association of California School Administrators.
Gina and her two children, Patrick and Caitlyn, live in Sebastopol and enjoy time with their many pets - a horse, pig, and 3 chihuahuas.
