Kindergarten Registration:
New State Law states that a child must be 5 years old on or before November 1, 2012 to enter kindergarten.
The 2012/2013 school year marks the first time Old Adobe Union School District will be offering a one-year and a two-year Kindergarten program.
The traditional one-year program is available for children who will turn five by November 1st. The new two-year Transitional Kindergarten is
optional for families and available to children who turn five between November 2 and December 2. The Transitional Kindergarten is a “gift of time”
program to help those children who may need an additional Kindergarten year to develop socially and academically to handle the rigors of the traditional
one-year program.
The first year of school is very important and exciting for everyone. It is important to us that your family’s transition to school is as
smooth as possible. The enrollment packet contains registration forms you will need to enroll your child in Kindergarten. Also enclosed is an explanation
of the immunization, physical and dental exam requirements for entering pupils. You are urged to comply with the requirements as soon as possible
to ensure clearance for a timely start in the fall.
Your neighborhood school is determined by the location of your residence. If you live in a district outside the boundaries of Old Adobe Union
School district but wish to attend one of our outstanding Kindergarten programs, please request and complete an Inter-district Open Enrollment
Transfer Form.
The staff of this district is here to share in a partnership with you to offer your child the best elementary education possible. We look forward to
working with you for a successful Kindergarten year as you and your child embark on this exciting and important time. We welcome you and your child to
our district!
