Our district offers a standards-based curriculum that is rich in constructivist principles and brain-friendly instruction. The Old Adobe Union School District has an active Curriculum Council that works closely with the instructional staff across the district. We have high expectations for our students as we work to build learning communities in each of our schools. We invite you to visit the District Office or any of our five schools to learn more. |

"Regarding the Old Adobe writing preparation, we're seeing our students with a more consistent understanding of the structure of an essay - 5 paragraph. Also, there's an understanding of the role that a thesis plays in an essay. The Old Adobe district writing program provides a clear foundation that complements our own writing program and allows us to build on it with deeper critical and analytical thought. The visual arts program also trains the students to analyze a text, seeking both meaning and evidence - all important to the kinds of essays they write in junior high and high school."
-Casey Stuelpe, 7th grade English teacher.
