Welcome to Petaluma and the Old Adobe Union School District. We are proud to serve approximately 1800 elementary (K—6) students in East Petaluma.
Our mission is to provide a child-centered environment with high academic standards where students are challenged to attain their maximum potentials. To reach this end we have set four goals for our children. We want every child to master the essentials, have a passion for learning, reach his or her own personal best, and demonstrate good citizenship. In addition, we encourage each of our teachers and our five schools to provide something extra for our children.
We believe that children thrive in safe and caring communities. Our Caring Schools Community Project emphasizes the shared values of fairness, helpfulness, and respect. Our aim is to teach students how to function in a larger democratic society with empathy, wisdom, and compassion. The Project also teaches students to take responsibility for their own learning and behavior. Our philosophy is that when children feel safe and cared about, they are happy, confident and ready to learn.
Old Adobe Union School District started as a rural school serving the farming community. Although the farming community is now only a small part of our district, we are proud to continue this tradition of small communities where every family is valued and included. Together we will work with you to grow children prepared for the future.
